Damn Fine Print brings you our third limited edition print in our ongoing literary collaboration with artistic genius and all-round nice guy Steve Simpson.
A beautiful quote written by the great poet Oscar Wilde, hand sketched by Steve and then lovingly screen-printed by hand on heavy 300gsm off-white paper with separate layers of red and turquoise ink to create a deep midnight blue mix.
Each print is screenprinted onto 700 x 500 mm cuts of paper, signed by Steve and limited to just 161 pressings to mark the anniversary of Wilde's birthday (October 16, 1854).
Not happy to rest there we used a cheeky glow-in-the-dark ink for a second hidden layer, giving a whole new image when the lights go out at night.
All prints are €80, signed and numbered by the artist and carefully rolled and packaged in a sturdy postal-friendly tube.
This print was made as part of our 2019 celebration of the 100th Liffey Swim. We collaborated with some of our favourite illustrators to mark the iconic event.
3 colour hand-pulled screen print 500 x 500mm / on 285gsm Context Birch paper, edition of 100, signed and numbered by artist.
