“The Lioness does everything from caring to hunting to keep their pride thriving, and this reminded me of the modern day woman and all the strong women in my life doing their thing.
Feminism and empowering females is a theme that finds its way into my work naturally so I couldn't help myself to use this in my piece for ‘The Wild Life.’ The piece was also inspired by the Egyptian Goddess of healing ‘Sekhmet’ who is depicted with the head of a lion, and the body of a woman.”
“The Wild Life” is a collection of risograph prints produced by Damn Fine Print in collaboration with five artists; Cathal Duane, Bronagh Lee, Stasele Jakunskaite, David McMillan and Steve McCarthy. The collection called on these artists to embrace their inner animal, and design a piece that would challenge and embrace the quirks and aesthetics of the risograph.
This print is sold unframed securely packaged in a cardboard tube.
