About the Project
Our group collection 'Dawn' was put together at during the latter stages of 2020, calling on our Damn Fine Print members, to each respond to the theme of "Dawn" through their respective approaches to printmaking.
"The idea for this print spans right back to the first lockdown, I was playing with new ways to create these collaged elements from photographs and drawings I created and struck this composition. It really came together for me quite quick and the colour choice was also immediate. When the brief for DAWN was sent out, I felt it was a perfect fit. The context of its creation, the timing, everything just fit together and flowed.
The very essence of DAWN hints at a reemergence and this is something I want this work to embody. The bright, crisp visuals suggest a fresh awakening and visually carry us forward through these dark times."
