About the artist
Steve Mccarthy is a Dublin based designer, illustrator and bearded gentleman. His style is bold, colourful and inspired by humour and wit. He sadly cannot ride a horse or sail a boat with any convincing skill, but to date that has yet to hold him back. His first children's book Sally go round the stars was nominated for the bord gais children's book of the year. Steve worked as a background designer for the animated feature film Song of the Sea which was nominated for an academy award. Steve is also totally comfortable writing in the 3rd person. Steve plans to continue producing children’s picture books and use illustration in all manner of weird and wonderful projects.
