'Transience I' by Darragh Phelan
2-colour hand-pulled screen print
420 x 594mm / on 300gsm Munken Pure paper.
Edition of 16, signed and numbered by the artist.
The two prints Transience I and Transience II attempt to evoke a sense of impermanence and instability that has characterised this summer in my experience. Increasingly I have witnessed how algorithms and data harvesting are affecting people around me and influencing their behaviour through different social media or other applications. Habits fostered during lockdown have carried on into reopening, in my eyes bringing with them negative consequences
About the Project
Damn Fine Print proudly presents a new collection of works by members and contributors to showcase some of the talent and creativity we’ve seen in our studio recently.
Entitled ‘Irish Summer’, the collection draws upon a range of moods and memories to try and illustrate the fleeting joys and halcyon days of an Irish summer holiday.
We’ve brought together some established artists, familiar names and new talents to present a snapshot of where we’re all at creatively after exploring 2021’s once-in-a-lifetime, government-mandated ‘outdoor summer’.
