About the Project
Our group collection 'Dawn' was put together at during the latter stages of 2020, calling on our Damn Fine Print members, to each respond to the theme of "Dawn" through their respective approaches to printmaking.
'When I imagine a new dawn, I see myself in a calm, contemplative moment, hypnotised by the movement of the waves and their pattern, watching the sun peer through the sea and rise into the day. A peaceful sighting amidst the chaos. I hope that it is this calmness yet force of see and sun that inspires us and carries us into the future.' - Sarah Boris
The artwork is part of an ongoing series of works by Sarah Boris extracted from a larger body of work and a book titled 'Le Théâtre Graphique'. This is the first time this artwork is released for sale.
About the Artist
Sarah Boris is an artist and graphic designer based in London. After working for over ten years for organisations such as Phaidon, ICA, the Barbican, she set up her own studio in 2015, working mainly in the field of arts and culture alongside developing her own art practice in the form of printed artworks and books. She is a regular speaker at design conferences and in universities. Her work was acquired by the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam and was exhibited at the Design Museum in London and at Une Saison Graphique, Le Havre, France.
