COVID SAFETY GUIDELINES
We are delighted to be back teaching our courses post lock down. We have put in place the following safety procedures. As new students to our studios you will be required to wear a mask for the durations of your workshop. Please bring one with you. This is mandatory. The workshop will take place in the spacious screenprinting studio. Class sizes are set at 6 and we will endeavour to allow for as much social distancing as possible, while we can't guarantee 2 meters per se.
Our studio and equipment is sanitised regularly every day and prior to classes starting. Hand sanitiser is provided. On arrival you will be asked to wash your hands and sign our standard Covid health and safety declaration document. If there is a lock down, all courses will be rescheduled to another date and you will be notified. We will endeavour to ensure that all of our students have as safe, educational and enjoyable an experience as possible while learning to print with us.
Belfast-based photographer Billy Woods caught our eye through his self-published zines capturing the faces of Belfast DIY music venues. With the same energy behind the camera, Billy found himself in Reykjavik, Iceland, where he came to learn through conversations with locals, of genetic ties between Irish and Icelandic people. From behind the camera, this trip saw Billy documenting the architecture, landscapes, and people of Reykjavik, delving in to their city and gaining an understanding of the ways that these two cultures have been interwoven, be it through shared DNA or shared experiences of the harsh economic struggles. The resulting zine, ‘Papar’ is a beautifully crafted and considered photo book that we were delighted to have produced.
Risograph printed on Fedrigoni Freelife White, Sirio Colour Celeste, and Woodstock Nero recycled papers. Printed using Blackand Aqua inks. 195 x 243mm. 40 pages.
Ross Carvill’s illustrations possess an energy and personality that stands out amongst the best of them. In April of 2020, we invited Ross to do some live drawing on our instagram, where Ross drew creations that merged animals and objects based on viewers’ suggestions, and we loved them so much that we thought they needed to be printed! “Mystical Magical Maths” collects some of our favourites, in this zine that’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Risograph printed on Fedrigoni Freelife Oikos and Munken Polar rough papers. Printed using Black and Bright Red inks. 111 x 132mm. 16 pages.
